Eighteen months after To Commune – the 69th Flaherty Film Seminar at the Thai Film Archive (2024), curated by Julian Ross and May Adadol Ingawanij, we collected reflections on that gathering from various participants – some of which were initially published elsewhere, and others translated or commissioned especially for this digital catalogue publication. Our hope for To Commune is that it becomes a praxis that took its first step at the 2024 gathering. We hope that slowly, over the years, it multiplies as experiments in making relations with film curation, to relive, to learn and to take the next steps with different understandings and possibilities of that verb – to commune.
